Application and reporting
Receiving compensation should feel safe and simple. Here you get clear guidance through the entire process – from your first application to your monthly application and the activity report to the Public Employment Service. You will learn what is needed for us to process your case smoothly, even if you have been abroad or need to update your information, so that the compensation can be paid out without unnecessary waiting times.
Payment on the fourth Thursday of the month
The compensation is paid on the fourth Thursday of each month. If we need to verify any information in your report, the payment may be delayed. In that case, we’ll contact you, and once the matter is resolved, payment can be made on the Thursday of the following week.
Apply each month when you're certain about your income
The monthly application in Mina sidor is your formal request for compensation. To submit it, you need to be sure of the income you've received and the periods it covers. Monthly applications submitted by the 14th will be paid out within the same month.
Submit your activity report to Arbetsförmedlingen by the 14th of each month
At the beginning of each month, you report to Arbetsförmedlingen which jobs you’ve applied for and what other actions you’ve taken to find new employment.
We send a reminder in Mina sidor every month to everyone who applied for compensation the previous month. If you have already submitted the report, you can disregard our reminder.
How to actively search for jobs
To be eligible for unemployment compensation, you must be in Sweden, unemployed, and actively seeking work. This means regularly applying for jobs and following the instructions provided by Arbetsförmedlingen. It’s a fundamental requirement of the unemployment insurance and essential to ensure your compensation is not affected.
Been abroad
If you’ve been abroad, you must inform us which country you worked in. You can do this in your monthly application.
When you get a new job
When you start a new job, there are a few things you need to do to ensure everything is correct with your unemployment benefits. If the work is part-time, you fill in the income in the monthly application. If it is a new full-time job, you should remember to
continue applying for jobs until the new job begins and
submit your activity report to Arbetsförmedlingen even for the final month.
If you don’t have bank-id
If you don’t have bank-id, you can still apply. Download the forms you need, fill them in, print them out, and send them by post to our scanning center.
