1. Become a member
Membership always starts from the 1st of the month, and you will receive your decision by email.

2. Want to switch funds?
Fill out an application and we’ll handle the switch for you! As soon as your current fund ends your membership, you’ll become a member with us.

3. Membership requirements
Anyone with at least a foreign Bachelor's degree, at least 150 Swedish higher education credits, or who is currently studying toward 180 credits can join. Certain professions also qualify for membership.

4. It costs 140 SEK
It costs 140 SEK per month to be a member of Akademikernas a-kassa. The lowest fee in the industry. Plus, 25% is tax-deductible.

Should I join as a student?
Yes, it’s often a good idea to join the unemployment insurance fund as a student – especially if you work alongside your studies or have worked previously.

Membership fee
It costs 140 SEK per month, and you can pay via direct debit (autogiro), e-invoice, or Kivra.

End membership
You need to end your membership in writing, and this is done in My Membership.

Want to become a member again?
Great! If you rejoin the month after your membership ended, you keep your earned membership time.
